Show me your best liquid lipstick and I’ll show you mine…
Me & Rihanna
I remember Rihanna’s debut single (yes, I am that old) and I must say I still go back to it. Back in the days I worked as dance instructor and boy did we not have some good time over Pon De Replay… Much as I loved that number, I thought Rihanna was one of those start of the moment that would soon fade away into oblivion. How wrong could I be. As an artist Rihanna only grew and perfected into an amazing performer and a skilled businesswoman. The latest manifestation of the latter is her makeup line, part of which I have already reviewed.
The Lip Paint
Initially, the Stunna Lip Pain came out in a single shade of red. I am not big on red lips. Actually, the only red in my collection is the Heartbreaker by Huda Beauty. And so I waited for the shade range extension to find one closer to my heart and scored a beautiful mauve under the name Uncuffed.
Essentially, I will not tease you anymore into the review – I’ll just say Rihanna did it. She (by which I obviously mean her brand) created THE perfect liquid lipstick formula. And not only that – the innovative applicator is the most precise lipstick tool you can imagine.
There is a good reason for that. You should be neat and quick to put this one on – it dries in seconds and is very hard to correct. Which means it will last forever (unless, of course, you have pizza for lunch) and beyond – it’s perfectly transfer-proof. Rich in pigment (no patchiness whatsoever). Glides like butter and does not dry out lips. What else can you ask from a lip paint? The answer is: more shades.
Uncensored is a perfect neutral red, Uncuffed – a deep mauve. Unbuttoned hits the nude note, however judging by swatches it is already too light for my skin tone (and I am somewhere in the light-mid range). Depending on your makeup choices, you might also like Unveil, which is a chocolate brown, or Uninvited (plain black). If you are considering getting a tube – I would definitely push you into it. I have not been excited for new makeup for the longest time, but I tell you this – I really hope to see other shades of Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint anytime soon 😊
